Favourite Photo Friday - 19/12/14

It's the second last photo Friday for the year, and I thought as a break from the predicted onslaught of kiddy Christmas photos I'd post some of my favourite flower pics for the week.

Summer means lots of purple things flowering in our garden.  We have a heap of purple agapanthus, which are always fun to photograph - they look so different from different angles, and I love how they emerge from their buds.  I also have some lilacs in flower and a few purple annuals that have sprung up.  I took these photos one morning earlier in the week, after a brief thunderstorm, which always makes for lovely photos with clean flowers and rain droplets. It was a very purple week.....

Favourite Photo Friday - 11/10/13

So last week I was kind of hoping I might be able to post a photo of the new baby by this Friday. I wasn't convinced it would be out but I was hopeful........ Well today is my due date and it's still comfy on the inside :)  Knowing my luck it will still be there next Friday too! Astrid was a full week over so there is no reason to expect this one will be any more prompt with their arrival!

So instead here is a photo from this week. It's of the Lilac we planted for Astrid when she was born. It's beautifully in flower at the moment and  smells divine.  We actually planted her placenta under the tree when we put it in and it seems to be growing well.  The new baby will no doubt get a tree too for their placenta to go under. I'm not sure what sort of tree or where it will go but we will have to think about that! Of course they will need to come out first before tree discussions can be had :)
