Favourite Photo Friday - 19/12/14

It's the second last photo Friday for the year, and I thought as a break from the predicted onslaught of kiddy Christmas photos I'd post some of my favourite flower pics for the week.

Summer means lots of purple things flowering in our garden.  We have a heap of purple agapanthus, which are always fun to photograph - they look so different from different angles, and I love how they emerge from their buds.  I also have some lilacs in flower and a few purple annuals that have sprung up.  I took these photos one morning earlier in the week, after a brief thunderstorm, which always makes for lovely photos with clean flowers and rain droplets. It was a very purple week.....

Favourite photo Friday - 25/1

Ok so this is a series of photos rather than one photo, but they were taken together!  We have quite a number of Agapanthus in our garden and I am always impressed by how well they photograph with a macro lens. Agapanthus in bloom mean Summer is here!!

These photos were actually taken in January 2011. This Summer has been so hot that our Agapanthus were already looking worse for wear by the time we got back from overseas.
